National Community Development Week is April 8-14, 2012
NCDA will celebrate National Community Development Week during the week of April 8.  The primary activity focus during this year's celebration will be project tours.  It is imperative that you invite your congressional members to tour your CDBG- and HOME-funded projects during National CD Week, so that they can witness first-hand how both CDBG and HOME work locally to meet the needs of low- and moderate-income people.  To reach your congressional members' offices, contact the Capitol Hill Switchboard at 202-224-3121.  Once you are connected to their office, ask to speak to their scheduler.  The scheduler will ensure the project tour date is placed on your congressional members' calendar.  Please reach out to your congressional members immediately.  Their calendars fill up quickly.  Please plan to have a short, written description (that includes project financing) of each project that will be toured.  Please plan on no more than two hours for the tour, since congressional members calendars are very busy.   Invite the local press to attend the event and ask them to feature the tour in an upcoming newspaper article or television story.  If you have any questions, please contact Vicki Watson at 202-887-5532.
